Typhoon Headers for Big Block Chevy Applications Up To 1000 HP
Hardin Marines’ growth in the stainless steel header market can only be considered “explosive”. The unbelievable positive market reception to both the performance and quality of both the “Cyclone” and “Hurricane” series exhaust systems lead to the evolution of what many will consider the ultimate header system. Blending years of stainless steel header construction techniques into the all new “Typhoon” header system. Starting with the finest premium first run stainless steel tubing that money can buy, each header features precision mandrel bent one piece 2” inner primary tubes, eliminating the cracked welds found on multi-piece inner tube designs found in other aftermarket systems. Next, a high flow 5” collector system is installed featuring the same V-TEX O-ring sealing system found in NASA aerospace connections. An equal flow water distribution inlet system is welded to the header system, eliminating faulty rubber hoses found in other header designs. (Note Mercury Marine does “NOT” use rubber water inlet hose connections at the base of their header systems.) Once the header system is assembled, it then goes through an annealing and passivation process where the header is heated to 2000 degree’s in a controlled environment and then allowed to cool at a pre-determined rate. This process rids the material of impurities, acting as a hardening process that cures the header while also providing necessary stress relief. This process reduces material fatigue and failure by 60 percent. Click on the part number to check pricing or place an order.
