All API Marine new multi-position 50MT starters come with a standard SAE 3 drive end housing. The multi-position drive end may easily be rotated so that one starter will replace many part numbers. In the event the starter to be replaced has a special drive end housing (as in some Cummins & CAT applications), the housing may be removed and placed on the new API Marine motor being installed. Also, API Marine 50MT starters may be used to replace 42MT starters when additional cranking power is desired.
