Additonal Info On This Product:

Max Volt Billet Marine "Run Ready" Distributor Ignition System - Chevy V8

These distributors are a stand alone style ignition in one convenient distributor package. These all new "Run Ready" marine distributors do NOT require any additional control box to operate. Although they do not share the performance advantages when using a Max Volt Ignition Control box, they do provide the ultimate in maintenance free magnetic ignition reliability. Their increased output of the internal ignition amplifier will out perform stock ignitions while smoothing out an engines idle, improve starting and provide a higher more adjustable operating range. Meets all USCG requirements.

Note: Not for use on Alpha Drive applications with Shift cut-out systems. Also, Confirm that there are 12 volts on the Red wire when the key is On and while cranking. It is important to confirm 12-volts during cranking as many older vehicles may have resistor wiring or ballast resistors inline which could affect the voltage needed to fire the ignition. You can also check for 12 volts on the coil negative – remember, this is only on the Ready-to-Run distributors! Also, confirm that the black wire is properly grounded to the engine block.
